Our, Masjid (located at 8701 Cottington Rd, Nottingham, MD, 21236) used to be a church and alhamdulillah, with Allah blessing; we bought it and now is Masjid Omar Al-Farouq.

The auction purchase price was $1,753,922.40 of which $373,922.40 was in the form of donations while the remaining $1,380,000.00 was in the form of Qard Hassen.

Allah says:

مَّثَلُ الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ حَبَّةٍ أَنبَتَتْ سَبْعَ سَنَابِلَ
فِي كُلِّ سُنبُلَةٍ مِّائَةُ حَبَّةٍ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُضَاعِفُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ

The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of Allah is that of a grain that sprouts into seven ears, each bearing one hundred grains. And Allah multiplies ˹the reward even more˺ to whoever He wills. For Allah is All-Bountiful, All-Knowing.
